Bahrain crack down about to begin

We have seen a sudden fall in geo-tagged tweeting coming from all over Bahrain recently, followed by a restoration to some parts of Pearl Roundabout, which may be a use of alternative networks to connect to the Internet.

The content of twitter #lulu hashtag contains reports of a large number of troops moving to the roundabout. We have also seen an utter collapse of pro-government tweeting in support of Bahrain. Past crack downs in Bahrain have been preceded by a sudden end of tweeting by of pro-government accounts.

We are extremely concerned that government and occupation forces will try to clear Pearl Roundabout tonight.
