Developer Love: Could Facebook become the next big cloud platform?

Facebook Developer Love, must see bog post for Facebook developers and start ups

Operation Developer Love: Europe Recap - Facebook Developers:

"One of our goals with Operation Developer Love is to have more opportunities to hear from you and accelerate your app development on Facebook Platform. We recently hosted events in Berlin, Paris, and London to engage with hundreds of developers, share how to effectively build social apps, and collect feedback on Facebook Platform. Thank you to everyone who came out to these events."

The blog post goes on to give a number of videos that make it clear that Facebook is looking to become a social cloud framework rather than just a site. Pretty cool. The videos confirmed for us that we were not alone in our struggles with the platform, which has been shifting too quickly, but also showed that Facebook is listening and aware of its problems, and seems to be moving in the right direction.

Certainly right now Facebook is not a cloud providers like Azure or Amazon that you can pin our entire business upon, but they seem to be going in the right direction.

  1. That may be true about the bugs but it's considered to be the best Facebook app on any mobile platform and he alone worked on it. He does say in his Twitter posts (@joehewitt) that bug fixes were already submitted and I believe push notifications as well.

When you hear stories, like this week and the political bobble head fiasco, you really wonder what is going on at Apple.
