I am tracking the levels of tweeting coming from Protests in Dehli over the lack of government action to deal with rape. Above is a list of tweets coming from near India Gate where a demonstration confronted the police. There is not a very high level of tweeting at the location, but a large percentage of the people tweeting are tweeting about the protests. We are following it at
It is interesting that the levels of tweeting have not risen much beyond this. This is due to a number of factors, the large size of the protest area, the low adoption of advanced smartphones in India, but most disturbing is the lack of RTs. For some reason this has not captured the twittersphere imagination the way Tahrir or Occupy did, and tweets from the location are not being highly retweeted!
